e-Align T-REX 450-500-600 > T-REX 450 How much is a T-REX 450SA worth?

I am thinking about purchasing a T-Rex 450SA. It is RTF with a Futaba 6ex TX. Can you give me some about prices this should cost. I know the price can vary by upgrades and what all is included. So I am just looking for an average price.

It could vary wildly depending on what's in it, but here's a starting point.

I bought my TREX SA NIB from a LHS for $179.99. This included 325 pro wood blades, 35G ESC, and 430L motor.

The Futaba T6EX radio goes for around $200.00 new.

So a stock T-Rex 450SA would be $179.99 plus tx and rx? Is that right?

Then you have to ad the servos, gyro and motor/esc if not in kit deal.

The AMA is way better than what you belong to!

I've had an SA for about 1 1/2 years. The price of the kit new has remained at slightly under $200 since it was released.

I have been toying with the idea of selling mine, figured it would be worth about half of the original cost. So, maybe use that as a base?

The main thing to focus on is the electronics. What servos and gyro you're getting.

...and motor/esc if not in kit deal.

The $179 ARF kit I got included the 430L motor and 35G ESC. Had to add all servos, gyro, tx/rx, and battery.

So, starting from scratch, you could conceivably have a nice Trex setup for about $600.

Mine cost me $580 all up, not counting batteries which I use on planes too. That's $200 for the kit (with ESC and motor), $50 for the receiver, $150 for the gyro, and $179 for the servos. I've got the JR digital servos, and the GY401 gyro. Might be able to get those parts online for a bit less, but with all the work I put into setting it up and everything, and the fact that it's brand-new, I wouldn't sell it for less than $500. I've also got a set of $50 blades on there...

So it can vary wildly...

if you go cheap on the servos and gyro you will pay for it(literally) because they will go bad on you and you will end up buying some better ones and a 401

in this hobby if you go cheap in the beginning you will always pay more in the end... and this hobby will drain ur money so get use 2 it lol

Eflite S75 servos are only slightly better than Esky 8G's. For about the same price, you'd be MUCH better off with Hitec HS55's. But, with HS55's, you'd still have a servo best suited for a heavy micro, like the King or Compy.

The minimum servo you should get for a mini like the TREX is something along the lines of an HS56. Minimum specs that I would ideally trust:
14 oz/in torque, and .12-.14 sec/60º speed. For the tail, you want 15 - 17 oz/in or preferably, more, of torque, and .11 sec/60º or faster speed.

For a gyro, don't go any cheaper than an 11g Telebee, and that would be only if that's all you can afford. A Logictec 2100 would fit the bill nicely, and it's about $105 new.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're NOT out to get you...

HiTec HS-65HB servos are about $23 each. I use for swash and tail servo. Striped gears on crashing ? Sometimes but I find gear replacement kits are about $5.00 and easy to do if you are good with tweezers and magnify headband. Other than crash gear replacements I have never had one go bad. (Trex 450SA for over a year, at least 400 8 min flights) So for your Trex 450 $23 X 4 = $92 dollars in servos (HS-65HB).
Edit, my flying is rather mild, very little 3D, so that may factor in why I like the HS-65HB
