Are there any companies making an aftermarket perhaps CNC tail rotor gearbox case for the Vibe 90 or is the stock plastic one it.

M&M made some for the Vigors CS but they quit making them i'm thinking about trying a vibe50 or a 600n tail on one of my 90 my other 90 i have the M&M on it

In this case, does he use the Vibe 90 tortube and the whole Vibe 50 tail without any further modification?
Any related article or photos?

I'm not sure I asked him about it at xfc but he was busy, you could probably email him and find out. He said he preferred the vibe 50 tailcase over the vibe 90.

anyone know what the mod includes, I imagine the Vibe 50 t/r case doesn't mate right up to the vibe 90 boom and gear

The tail boom diameter is the same on both, the 90 and the 50.
So the tail gear box fits. You only have to drill a hole and put in the screw to prevent the gear box from rotation.
Next step is to install the rear coupler of the Vibe 50 on the Vibe 90 TT.
Maybe some corrections in length has to been made.
That should work.

What's the relation between the 90 and 50 tail gear ratio?
Is the V50 tail faster?

Looks like you have to machine down the diameter of the Vibe 50 coupler to fit the Vibe 90 torque tube. So it's more of a change in width rather than length. You might have to drill a new hole for the coupler pin.

Everything else from the Vibe 50 tail case should fit with minimal modifications.

The ratio of the T/R gearboxes is the same both have 1:1 INPUT TO OUTPUT.

The biggest problem is somehow increasing the length of the torque tube, you need to gain about 30-40mm.

what is the coupler, I'm new to JR? and how do I gain length in the torque tube and mill down the coupler without having a cnc machine and lathe. Is this something the common man can do or will I just be asking for trouble. And finally, does anyone have pics of this

Coupler... Vibe 50 uses a splined aluminium coupler on the end of the TT, Vibe 90 uses an alu coupler that clamps to the input gear on the g/box. You need to attach the splined coupler to the V 90 coupler, ideally you need a lathe to turn the coupler down to fit the V 90 TT or you drill the V 90 coupler to accept the V 50 splined coupler.... confused yet??

The other option is to maybe use a 600N splined coupler that is slightly smaller in diameter and would require less drilling of the V90 coupler, however the major problem is that the TT assembly will be too short to engage correctly into both ends, drive and driven.....

If you had the parts in front of you it would be obvious. Still working to get mine done, but other issues are putting this on the back seat at the moment. Would be nice if someone who knew Scott Gray could ask him for his input.

Hi!

I dropped a mail to Scott Gray some days ago but did not get a reply.
He seems to be busy.
Maybe some other JR Team members could bring some light to us.

I wonder if you just need to cut the tail boom back a little bit. but then I don't know if you'd have main blade/ t/r blade interference issues or if it would adversely affect t/r handling, if anyone could shed some light on this mod please do.
