| I did a little review on the Throttle Jockey in the Electronics forum so read about it there.
I installed the TJ in my scale raptor because the fuse makes the heli sound different and I can't tell rpms anymore. So I set it up for 1450 and 1520 main rpm and went flying.
First tank was nice, the TJ worked as advertised and passerbys were suitably awed by my flying skill and the scale body.
Midway on the second tank I landed to change #s in my radio and got ready to take back off. I throttled up and the engine whined, tailblades reved and nothing on the mains. I figured the engine kicked over and ran backwards. Reved up and down, pinched fuel line but no go. So I shut the engine off and picked the heli up by the rotorhead. Lifting up the whole rotorhead and mainshaft slid up about 3 inches. I just went H..S.. and clenched my cheeks. On the bench I looked in and found the lower Jesus bolt was gone. I have a Heliproz purple slipper on it and the long bold holding the slipper, one way sleeve and mainshaft together disappeared.
I went home and had a beer, or two, or three to calm my nerves. I was going to paly the Lottery but that would make no sense now since I've used up all my luck for this year.
My lucky Rapster:
If you read my TJ review I noted that during rpm changes the engine yelped and kicked. I guess one of those kicks was too much for the bolt and sheared it. Pressure kept most of it in until I landed.
