e-E-Flite Blade CP mCX CX 400-3D > LOST my Blade 400! HELP

Location: Franklinton, La - United states

I will give you a quick run down on how much I love my Blade 400 and now its lost, read on. It is my second heli (Blade CP being the first)I put a Trex450 canopy, boom Complete Trex 450 V2 billet aluminum tail on it but most of all it has a brand new JR7703D Gyro with a brand new JR digital Gyro mini tail servo, total investmant is around $1000, my uncle installed them for me, tuned it all up and it held like a rock!!! I have flown with nothing but E-Flite Gyro's up to this point so the locked in feel on the 770 was amazing to me!I was flying today and I lost my heli about 50 yards out in very thick brush, We can and had to mecheti are way through thick painful brush but could not locate my lost bird. We left the transmitter on and would operate the controls once in a while to see if we could hear it but we never found it. With a over head CAM mounted to a heli I am sure we could spot it with enough searching. I am located near Franklinton Louisiana so if any one can help please PM or call me at 985-515-8331, Ask for Mikey, Thank you members

I would help you if I was closer but if it was only 50 yards you hsould be able to find it take a ladder out there to stand up on once in a while while chopping your way thru and maybe you will be able to see it.

best of luck,

Carl

Go tell the local federal/state police and see if they have a tracking dog that needs some field time. We use them and they can find the ship from a great distance by the noise of the mechanism when operated. Worth a try.

You gonna have to just go out and do a grid pattern search...use landmarks to get your bearings and you will find it....widen your search pattern....it never goes down where we thought it did.....

I once threw a blade on my Rappy. I started at cente of the incident and made a small circle that gradually got bigger. I eventually found the blade and grip about 75 feet out. Good luck.

One of the reasons why I write my contact info on the inside of my canopy, just incase I ever loose it in the bushes.

I will build your heli for free.

The few times I have lost a heli it ended up being much closer to the spot where I was standing than I thought. I spent 5 hours doing a grid pattern search of the area I thought it was in. I found it when I was walking back to the Jeep 50 yards closer than I thought. It is out there, just start from the position you were in and work your way to the spot you think it is.

Once you find it dont move it till you make sure all parts are accounted for, like short links ,pitch levers or anything else that may have come off in the crash..... finding missing parts are a lot easier that way

Does anyone know if he found it yet (I hope so)? Please give us an up-date.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage, it's probably a helicopter.

I lost a Raptor-50 once about 200 yards out in overgrown land, underbrush, bushes, trees, etc. Had to hack my way through to get anywhere. Even rented a brush hog to cut paths in a grid manner. Some parts had a complete overgrown canopy blocking out the sun. After three days, I gave up.

Another guy lost his plane in the same general area about two weeks later and one of the guys looking for it darn near stepped on my heli, sitting there right side up, looking like it wanted to fly again. And a couple of days later, it did, even with signs of rust on some of the parts.

You know what would be a good product, some kind of location beeper. Maybe one of those lost keys locator? Maybe a lipo alarm (wait for the batt to drain)? Of course for the person with lots of funds, a GPS tracker or maybe lojack.

The bottom line is having fun.

Use the devices from "singing" birthday cards and alike. The sound carries well and is quite good to locate.

The device continually makes sound when powered. Just wire it to your rx battery with a dropdown resistor. Can't remember exactly what voltage is required, probably 3.6v. You might want to experiment with canopy mounting positions so as to get the best resonance and audio level.
