| I just bought an XSi but have not used it yet. I have used a Canon XT for several years with a Jomar trigger. It fits into the jack in the side of the camera and the other end goes to a servo slot on your receiver. When the switch on your radio is activated, the XT focuses then shutter is released.
I just use the blackwidow 200mW downlink. Works fine at 2.4Ghz. I don't have a monitor but use an Icuiti monocle.
I am going to use the Xsi as a backup camera and have a 20mm 2.8 prime on order for it. I use a 10-22 zoom for my other lens.
I have to use a separate little camera on the XT that fits over the eye piece. Works well, but I want to get rid of it by using Xsi. The compromise is I will have to lock in a set focus, near infinity, as it doesn not auto focus in live view. There are others that have some experence with the Xsi that will be more helpful than I have been. |
