Synergy R/C Synergy N9 > Why is the Synergy N9 heavier than a T-Rex 700

Hi Guys,

This is not a thread which of those heli's is better.
I just don't understand why there is a differnce of about 600gramm.
Both of them have 12mm hollow mainshafts-But for me the Synergy have less parts for the tail drive. Mybe the torque tube system is heavier on the Synergy?

maybe someone can clear it up for me.

Regards Janis

That is part of it but overall the 700N looks like it has less parts too.

Hm this causes maybe lets say max 100gr, not more.

It just not lloks like the 700 have such more less parts-but I think it has to be this what cuses the wight difference.

Because it has meatier parts made out of materials with a higher specific gravity, and there are more of them. This is kind of a dumb question.

well i have both and i'll tell you the main ones.

canopy is 130g lighter
tailboom assy is half the weight
main gears are substantially lighter
less parts is a given
g10 v carbon will account for some aswell

i didn't put everypart of the heli on scales but i did check the csnopy and main gear as i had spare synergy ones sitting.

cheers

Sorry that I am not as smart as you. Why a dump question-cause I am asking something about two heli's i dont have. But I will really think about asking a question here on this forum the next time.
Your just a smart a$$.

Dumb might have been harsh. I just meant it is heavier, and that is that. Now if you had 2 of the same kit, and one weighs more than the other, then it would make more sence to wonder why. But in the case of 2 designs, it is what it is.

the fly bar on the sin is a lot thicker than the 700 that will add a lot of weight

hell ya'll are thinking to much. I had a simple answer and even someone like my not owning either could answer.

Quality v Quantity

Synergy is a Quality machine beefier parts
700 is a Quantity machine mass produced parts.

synergy...quality? lmfao.....sorry i have 2 of them and quality is not a word i would associate with them. they are good but please. if they didn't fly well they wouldn't sell a single kit as the quality, especially early ones like mine were shocking.

cheers

That's laughable. The 700N isn't even out en masse yet for you to say and the Synergy has had and still has its share of problems. I bet the 700N has fewer issues than the Synergy has had!

I would say that is mostly because the synergy started from scratch whereas the 700N is a 600N scaled up. It is easy to fix the misses on something already out in masses for a new model besides starting as a trial and error method that synergy has to do, it is not a scaled up machine of anything. The 700 has quite a few parts that are very similar to a few synergy pieces. Just my thoughts.

Before we start Wicth heli is better battle lets wait untell the 700n hits the masses. Then we can judge. And maybe it will be better. But dont forget there are many flying Synergys with no problems. Im sure people will have issues and many will come from bad setup/building. But maybe Im wrong. Who Knows

Having owned both, in my opinion the 700 is better only because it has less parts and they are cheaper parts as well. As far as quality, well it is easier to change things when you can have a part made in a few hours (align) VS a few months (synergy). They are both great flying machines though.

Ummm, the 700N has FAR more metal on board out of the box than the Synergy. Let's at least try and stick to the truth as much as possible here. I like the look of the Synergy and it seems to fly very well. BUT, with limited parts support in this part of the world along with several nagging build/QC issues, there are only 2 Synergy's that I know of in the entire country.

On the other hand, the first 700N shipment is 100% pre-sold AFAIK.

Fly what you like but the weight issue will likely be a non-issue when comparing these 2 machines.

I would aggree that with the power the current and future 90 engines make weight issues will not be an issue.
