..mine goes in the garden to dry out (or the greenhouse if raining) then back indoors for dry safety.
..when drying off I pull both carb lines, after pumping out the carb. When back in the house then that room leave the window open too whenever possible.

Mine is in the kitchen . I use Aspen fuel that doesn't smell, so I don't have to drain the tank.

The best thing to do for the smell is to use coleman fuel. Years ago I had gasser airplanes and got rid of them because of the smell. I will never use gas again.

In the basement

Empty the tank, pump out the carb, and store in a cool place like the basement and there will be no smell. Heat makes gas evaporate and increase the odor.

Goodness me - IN THE GARAGE OR SHED??? No Way!!!
These machines are far too good for that so they must live inside - in my study to be exact. It is so convenient when I am banging away on the computer to have the batteries charging right there, or you want to check something on the heli quickly so you just turn around and there it is.

I normally run the tank almost dry but there is a small amount of fuel still inside it but I really don't even smell it anymore. My wife has never made mention of an "offensive odour emanating from my study" so this arrangements seems to work well.

For those neglectful members here who feel the need to banish their machines to the dark, cold and isolated confines of the garage or shed I say this: "have some respect".

All my Heli's have there own hangar on wheels. I keep all my aircraft in an enclosed trailer. Beats having to load and unload the vehicle everytime you want to fly. Everything is always with you, charged and ready to go. When you get home just plug the trailer into an outlet and everything is ready for the next trip to the field.

Not that many rooms...my helicopter room locates in my garage, not in the house.

Anyway I really like the fuel which doesn't stink so if I had to move the helis inside the house there would not be any stink problems.

I clean all oil spots after flying day on muffler and canopy with odorless turpentine which works great. All my mufflers are like new even after gallons of fuel.

Cheers

Right now mine is on a table by my recliner in our den. Burning coleman right now so no smell. When I burn gas, as long as I empty out the tank, you can't smell it unless you stick your nose to the carb. I have an EXTREMELY understanding wife.

I use gasoline and store all four of my gassers in the house. I don't really notice a bad smell from the gas. I drain the tank and lines before bringing them in. I have been an auto mechanic for 21 years so the smell doesn't bother me anyway. The wife doesn't find it offensive( at least she doesn't admit it to me).

I use Ozark camper fuel and keep my gasser in the house, never any smell and I don't empty the tank, I want the clunk/filter to stay wet.

Support bacteria. They're the only culture some people have. !

That’s odd. I don’t drain my tank and both of them set on a table in my office. If there are no leaks then where does the gas smell come from? On occasion I have experienced a spill usually when removing the carb or fuel lines and all it takes is opening the windows for a couple of hours and the smell is gone. It doesn’t permeate the house.

I keep mine in a finished basement in a special room just for all my aircraft. I have a shelf for each helicopter to rest comfortably on. I use regular gas and don't mind the smell. Camper fuel makes me think of food and cooking lol.
