Hi all,

What versions of Hitec HS-81 are you using for throttle, the plastic or metal gear ones? Are the plastic gears ok for this use? Can they take the natural nitro vibrations? What is the difference between the HS81MG and the HS82?

HS82 is the replacement for the HS81.

I don't see why nylon gears wouldn't be fine. There is not that much torque. Just don't use a DS821.

After taking some advice from TC I've now changed from my JR8231's to Futaba 3155's with the carbon adapter mounting plate. I've more than cut the weight in half and the performance is still superb.
