I broke down and ordered a JR DS3517 for the throttle.

My reasoning was that the JR servo horns ahve holes that exactly match the spacing on the YS throttle arm. The Hitec holes are either too far or too close. That is MY reason, and I am sticking to it.

Can anyone tell me if there's an issue with running a 9452 on the throttle with a multi gov? The only reason I'm planning on using it is because I have one sitting in my tool box.

Why should there be one? its 0.13/0.11 at 4.8V/6.0V

Seems perfect to me

How much torque does a throttle servo need? 3Kg?

I'm looking to put mini servos in a few of my helis (on throttle) and I've got quite a few small/mini/micro servos but I don't think they're up to the job.

Best Throttle servo:

Best Throttle servo: JR DS8311 (not many people know that is actually the best throttle servo)

As I mentioned earlier I am using Hitec HS81 on the throttle on 2 Vibe 50's. I have been using the same servos for over 1 year on 90's and 50's alike and they have worked flawlessly.

I should also mention that I am running them on a straight 8 Volts.

Why do you want a 149 ounce-inch torque servo for throttle, which takes like a couple of ounces of force to move the arm?

My thoughts also. If your throttle's properly setup you don't even need an ounce of torque to move it. But ok using something like the 8915's on throttle because you want to run 8V through the block and only regulate the gyro...that makes sense to me.

Hi guys

I have just installed a micro JR servo on the throttle.

I used the JR DS385. It has plastic gears and has 2kg torque and is rated at 0.16 sec.

I don't find a US version of it.....

The servo was about 0.3mm narrower than the width of the frame cutout, so i opened it up by about 0.5mm....to give a little clearance.

I will go test fly tomorrow and report back.

The total weight saving was 61g.....

Regards
Paul

I ended up fitting an HS-81 servo, although the smaller HS65 should work very well too (it was fitted to the throttle by the previous owner).
