Has anyone done any experimenting with mufflers such as comparing the Hatori and Century mufflers? I am thinking I would like to do a side by side comparison to measure weight, noise level and power. I have the Hatori for my Spectra but had the Century on my Predator.

Are the engines in both helicopters the same? (23cc or 26cc) Post what ever data you come up with, I am sure there are lots of guys that would be interested. I for one would like to know how the Hatori pipe performs with the zenoah 231 engine. I like my Century V3 muffler, but I am not to happy with the quality of the muffler or customer service these days.

Mufflers

Has anyone tried any of the mufflers designed for boats on their helis. Some of these look really cool on a heli and you can adjust the length to alter performance (length of the header)A friend of mine has one and it really sings on his Hanson 26cc.

Might be able to help here. We have had some issues with the Hatori mufflers we use. I have just bought a Century CN3069 and a Yusa 26cc Heli Petrol Muffler (H2601). Have a suspicion the Yusa is sold as a JR GSR260 pipe. I intend to fit them in turn to a new machine and see which works out the best.

I will post my findings.

I have also seen a compact anodised exhaust kit on E.Bay for the Baja 5b series of buggies that is supposed to deliver higher torque outputs in the mid range. At about £50.00 i was going to give one a try.

Those Baja ones work well, if we're thinking about the same thing. They are called X-cans, and at least on the baja worked great. Really, really noisy, but had a noticeable power increase over the stock black can.

I will post the results when I try a few out. I like the simplicity of the Hatori and Centry designs.
