Radio - JR & Spektrum DSM > New spektrum crank gov sensor

I am wondering if anyone has tried the new spektrum crank gov sensor (the one which simply mounts on the backplate of the engine) with other govs - like GV1 or ATG / Multigov, etc? It would be great if we could use this new innovative sensor on the other govs.. (makes the build a lot easier with no epoxying mags, aligning sensors, etc...)

anyone try this? cheers

I think I saw that they weren't going to release it as a part in its own right untill Autumn but from what I have read it looks like it should work.

I used it for the first time yesterday and it worked great. Much easier to mount, plus there is a lot less wiring to mess with considering you get rid of the gov and regulator.

You have to start somewhere!

Yeah i like the new spektrum RX.. when i switch to 8v compatible servos i'll probably pick one of those up... i didnt realize you cant buy the sensors separately.. i would like to try one on the gv1 to see if it would work since i already have the GV1 installed...

cheers

I don't think it will work with the GV-1. It should work with any other units that worked with the RevMax and Throttle Jockey sensors, e.g. Multi-Gov and ATG come to mind. I know it works with the RexMav and the ATG as I have tried with those two.

OK that seriously rocks.. i need one
SO much simpler than gluing magnets, aligning the sensor, rebalancing the fan, etc, etc.. why the hell did it take so long to come up with this idea!

I would think that it would just require a pull up resistor (1K) between the poisitive and signal wire to work with the GV1 .

At the end of the day , it gets dark .

I haven't flown it myself, I just hooked it up to see if it would pass the sensor test. There are a few people that have said they have flown it with the Multigov and it works. I have run the 7100R with a Multigov sensor and it works fine.

Probably works just like the other sensors. The Pin on the bottom of the crank, that holds the connecting rod is probably really close to the backplate. The magnetic sensor probably just picks that up.
