Align T-REX 600N 700N > T-REX 600N Tictocs

Hi
Can someone tell me why my tictocs are very dodgy!!!!
I can do them all day continusly and i mean 15 mins at a time tictocing on Phoenix and when i'm sleeping, but when it comes to real life i just manage to pull my rex600 back then forward then i just loose too much height then have to pull out of it, but doing the same movements on the sticks as in the sim.
So a bit gutted really, I have Futaba 3152 on the cyclic and my headspeed is at 2000rpm and my throttle curve is 100-80-66-80-100 but use an Align gov, also i have a linear curve in idle up.
So if you can help me I would be very happy

Thanks

Simon

Sounds like you are too quick on your cyclic. Give your collective a chance to start the movement, then respond as normal with your cyclic.

I fly.....because I can.

One thing i also wanted to know was, are the servos upto the job and quick enough?

It's not a move that really needs fast servos
Learn to do it slow and controlled before trying faster ones

You are either
-not using enough collective
-not leaning the heli over enough
-using the cyclics too quickly

The reason you can do it on the sim is that you have tuned into the flight characteristics of the model you fly in the sim (and you are probably more relaxed) - you need to tune into how your real model actually flys

Was haveing the same problem till i put in some delay between the pitch and cyclic, now my tic tocs climb.

G3.5 user here, and I agree tic tocs on the sim are easy.

In real life it is all about the timing, collective v pitch, and the power of the heli, and power is not a problem with the 600N.

In my experience, the key is to go to max pitch just as you are at center stick(zero cyclic). Get it right and your tic tocs will climb. But if you are doing max pitch with max cyclic, your tic tocs will fall, mine do. Some days I seem to do a better job of collective management than others. Just keep trying.

It is called collective management.

I'd rather be flying

At first I also had a hard time with tic tocs and the heli loosing altitude. It really is timing and leading the collective slightly before cyclic.

Some people are like Slinkys, not good for anything but make you smile when pushed down the stairs

Those 3152s are not up for the job i had those and could not get a good tic toc either. I got the 8717 and i can tic toc all day just like the sim. I don't think it is the speed but the strength of the servo or lack there of.

seems a lot of dosh just to do a tictok, mmmm will have to think about that one for a bit.

In the matter of fact you can get any 50 heli bogging if the fuel is low nitro, wrong needle settings, heavy blades, too much pitch, wrong stick movements, too low headspeed, motor bearing failure etc.. My 600N was very lazy in the beginning and the reason was the old Os motor. Now using the Redline and no problems with 4point tictocs with 20% fuel

If there are any experienced pilots at your field who fly 3D with 50 helis just ask their opinion on your heli.

50's aren't very powerfull so the setup has to be perfect and stick timing well done.

remember you have to stop the movement with collective and then use your cyclics timing is the key here

It depends on the angle in order not to loose hight.
I would recommend you to start slow tic tocs
with big angle like this - | - more than 45 degrees angle
so that the heli stays in the same hight..

When you practise a lot u will be able to do tic tocs
faster and with small angles without loosing altitude.

Also another thing is headspeed...Probably u loose hight
because of boggind the heli...needs a bit practise in
pitch management

Hope it helps

So splashing out on expensive servos is not really the answer, just careful management

I find higher headspeed to get more pop helps or , I use my 600e's for 3d now and the extra power and pop over a 50 nitro makes tic tocs a lot easier, just have to worry about timeing as they are almost impossible to bog.

You are having a laugh right

Not seen an electric 600 yet that would touch my 600 N

I was talking power not run time.you got me on the run times.

By the way i have a fleet of 50 nitro heli's too.they have there place and run time is there strong point.I flew one of my 50 nitros today, to warm up for the insane power of my 600e's.See they have there place.

Centuryman is right, I have not seen a Nitro that can keep up with an equivelent sized electric if setup properly.
