It seems since I have gone 2.4 that the battery doesn't last as long as it did with 72mhz.

Does 2.4 use more juice? Anyone else notice this?

the first and second charge on my 12Z's battery was not giving full capacity in my mind either.........i bought a second battery as i find waiting for the battery to charge a bit inconvienan

now that it has a few charges on it though, it seems to hold charge much longer, but when i hooked up the 6EX for trainer, wow, the juice was sucked out like crazy...........glad i bought the backup.

i think i read somewhere though that the 2.4 systems are less drain on the battery.

Hi there.
I have not done an particular test, but I have seen that the voltage on my 14MZ drops slower during a long day of flying when using the FASST-module, than the regular 35Mhz module.
Of course in the 14MZ the backlight for the lcd draws the most djuice, so it is a bit difficult to tell.....

I read that the battery is supposed to last longer on 2.4 also but it doesnt seem to.

When not transmitting on a almost full battery the power read 94% and then when I hit transmit it went down to 88%.

Time will tell.

on the topic, how long do you get on the 12Z?

I sold my 14mz because i didnt like the short batter time, i now have a 12FG with a 2500mah lipo in it, charging it once every second week or so, flying daily...
