I am running 9252's at 4.8v and wondered if they can handle 6v? I recently got a align 2 in 1 with my t rex pro and plan on using the 7100r so I thought i'd lighten up my raptor with the 2 in 1 but futaba recomends not to run them at 6v? Thanks for your time

Been running a set of 4 on 5.8v for over a year now, no ill effects. Hundreds of great flights.

NO THEY WONT BE FINE, FUTABA TELLS YOU NOT TO RUN THEM AT THAT VOTAGE. THEY DONT HAVE HEAT SINCS, AND THEY WILL GET VERY HOT...BUT DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, LOOK HERE

http://www.futaba-rc.com/servos/digitalservos.html

IF YOUR TRUING TO GET MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK THERE ARE MANY OTHER SERVOS OUT THERE WITH BETTER FEATURES LIKE METAL GEARS, AND BRUSHLESS MOTORS THAT CAN HANDLE THOSE LOADS. IM RUNNING AIRTRONCIS 728S, AND THATS WHAT SZABO JR RECOMENDS... JR ALSO HAS A COMPAIRABLE PRODUCTS

IS IT REALLY THAT HOT??

They will be just fine, a fully charged 4.8 v batt is 5.8volts.
.2 volt won't make any difference. and 6v batt fully charged is 7.2 volts and they probably won't last long at that voltage. i use the 5.8 regulator on my 9252's in several heli's with NO problems.

Or you could believe a guy with 7 posts that POST IN ALL CAPS AND SHOUTS AT YOU. Ron

Please cancel my clearance, I have the field in sight.

I'd go with Dawg's word, Ron (hotwings) and I have only been at this a year or so, combined, so we haven't much experience with such things.

I've ran them at 5.74V for two years without problems. You are fine at 6V as long as you use them for human controled funtions ie cyclic and collective. If you install them in a computer controlled function (gyro or governed throttle) than they will start to lock and burn out because the gyro/gov make them work 100 times harder than your fingers and they will overheat at the mentioned voltage.

Vouch for another 6 volts ok. I've been running them for quite a I while, I ran them on 6 volts back in 02' on my Fury 60 when the first came out and were the hot ticket, no probs.

Cudda and Wings, you both crack me up

In MY experience, the 9252s hold well with a 5.8V battery. I have two sets of 9252s that are going on four years with the usage of LiPos (7.4V) with a regulators.

Come on BarracudaHockey, izzdawg has been flying heli's for a total of three years, and has that Heliman status, we might want to bow down to his vast knowledge, not to mention is abilitiy to type in all caps.

When the servo manufacturers say 4.8V they mean a 4 cell NiCd pack (4 x 1.2 = 4.8) and the nominal voltages that go with it. That can be up to 5.8V

When they say 6V they mean a 5 cell NiCd pack (5 x 1.2 = 6) and the nominal voltages that go with it. That can be up to 7.25V

This has been covered a few times before.
