Synergy R/C Synergy N9 > Rossi 91 0-30% Nitro with Insane canopy

Installed is the new ringed Rossi 91 that runs flawlessly. This motor will run with low or high nitro by changing the head button. I will post soon the engine installation and build. Motor peak power is at 15,500 amd runs great at 1850. Bolts right in as it is the same pattern as the OS engine. Very broad band Vario pipe eliminates tuning issues. I have been running Rossi engines for 20 plus years and this is the best motor ever with any tuning and carb. issues.

Canopy looks great.

I have to admit I've never seen a tuned pipe outside of older photos. I don't think nitro will be in shortage that long, but I'm quite interested in hearing how it both behaves and performs with low nitro.

I'm sincerely interested to hear how it flys.

The only thing I've heard is horror stories and such from "old timers" when it comes to tuned pipes and low nitro. (Walking to school uphill both ways in hundred mile per hour winds and rain, how a soda used to cost a nickel, etc, etc...)

I've also heard (and it's mainly joke and rumor) is that Rossi engines are like other Italian machines (ie. Lamborghini, Ferrari), - they're a high performance, high-revving engine, but have short tempers and are not entirely reliable.

I wouldn't mind hearing otherwise - given the price, I'd expect a reliable engine.

This engine pipe combination is proven in Europe where nitro is very expensive. All Vario, Robbe. Revolution helicopters run the broad band pipe top achieve the HP required on low nitro. Yes, Rossi in the early days where a challenge if you did not understand 2 needle carbs. Their first ringed helicopter engine is very smooth and easy to start. This engine really is as easy as set the needle to 2.5 high and 2.2 low and enjoy the flights. A fellow club member mentioned that his YS and my Rossi have the same climb out characteristics on our machines. Mine happened to be on 15% at that time. Currently I am running 30% Cool Power

Todd Bennett mentioned that he has a friend with a Rossi Synergy and was surprised how much power it had.

The old guys helped pave the way for the young ones. Yes, gas was 32 cents when I started to drive and my first helicopter was a Kavan Jet ranger with a Rossi 61 given to me by Mr. Rossi in Italy.

I was involved with the old guys such as Ernie Huber, Walt Schoonard, and John Gorham. I built fiberglass fuselages for them in the early 80’s for the studios under my company name D.C. Labs.

The last two paragraphs are just for humor but the Synergy is a dream to fly with any motor.

Enjoy.

Hi Ralph!
Greg told me to check out this topic. When he told me that someone was putting a Rossi into a Synergy, I knew it had to be you! The Xtreme pipe looks good on the Synergy and I bet the .91 really screams. Let me know how it flies!
We modified Greg's Webra .91 P5 to run 30% and it is really cranking out the horsepower now.
