I bent the Main shaft just a little, when I spool it up you can see the head wobble just a very small amount. Does this effect the flight or hovering of the Heli .
Thanks

Yes it does. And it will also greatly reduce the life of the main bearings.

Change the shaft. They're inexpensive, and come 2 to a pack.

The older I get, the shorter my attention....... Oh look. A shiny penny..

T-Rex 500 Crash

OK, geroge thanks for the advise. Is there anything special I need to do. Just unhook the Ball Links and the Jesus bolt and the Round pc that has a screw in it and also remove the blade grips. Then put everything back the way it was.
Do I need to verify the picth if I put everything excatly back the way it was. I am a newbie so I need to try to keep things simple.
Thanks

As a rule, you should ALWAYS verify all of the settings on the head any time you change a component. Main shaft, swashplate, mixing arm.... ect, ect....

It never fails to amaze me how your pitch settings can seam to change sometimes without an incident.

Always redo your pitch settings after a crash or any head part replacemant.

One of my 600e's developed a blade out of track with no crash just lots of hard flying, last night i checked it. 1.5 degrees out. flew it tonight, back to perfect again.of course a 12s power system can put alot of stress on a heli.

The Jesus bolt, main gear bolt and main shaft collar is all you need to unscrew (in addition to removing the linkages). However if you bent the main shaft (which CAN NEVER be too straight), you might want to pull your blade grips and check your spindle.

Always go through and verify the accuracy of your head settings after you pull and replace any part off it. Believe me when I tell you my friend there are NO short cuts with helicopter maintenance (you’ll be surprised how easily damaged head pieces can go unnoticed until it’s too late).
