Radio - Servo - Gyro - Gov - Batt > ATG rpm problem

Hello guys,
I have installed an ATG V3 on my Airskipper 90. Everything works great, but the RPM in the air doesn't match the set RPM. I've set the rpm at 1950, but several tachometers are displaying 1820-1830. And the ear also says a too low RPM.

-I don't think it's a sensor failure (the RPM is very consistent)
-The gear ratio is correct (8.0)
-RPM set with and without Gview
-The engine is running perfect
-Throttle servo is working fine

Does anyone have an idea what it could be? I could try set a different gear ratio, like 8.5 or so, but that's a strange way to solve the problem.

Thanks!

PS This is not my first heli with ATG, I'm pretty sure the radio is set correctly.

Count your gear teeth - I would suspect that you are not running 8:1 . . . although I can't find any manuals/docs for that heli in english to verify . . . . maybe 8.1:1 or something close?

Thanks for the quick replies, but I'm sure the gear ratio is 8.0
And even if it was 8.1, doesnt explain why the rpm is 100-150 rpm lower than the set headspeed.

Anyone had the same problem?

Thanks again.

Actually, a little quick math on your numbers shows that for 1950 desired on the head, and 8.0:0, you should have an engine speed of 15600 rpm. Working it backwards from the 1820/1830, gives a ratio more like 8.5:1, assuming the engine is hitting the correct speed. Too close to a normal ratio to be a coincidence in my mind . . . . I think it's time to start counting gear teeth to confirm what you really have . . .

do you take off and then check, or do you punch throttle few times?

mine don't always kick in until i "over rev" it a bit, ie full power punch.

what head speed you run without the governer attached?
