Ok, guys.

I broke down the other day while at the local HS and picked up the 401.

I have two helis set up now, so one gets the 2100 and the other the 401.

So far I am still trying to get the 401 dialed in. I have had to adjust the gain way down. Or is there something I am missing? Anyone with a 401 got some advice. I am going to go over the manual again to double check.

But so far, it does seem that the 401 is a little snappier on the piros than the 2100, but the 2100 does stop dead when I let off the stick. Other than that I am still working them out and fine tuning them.

ALso, I will put this out right away, my skill level does not make anything very definitive. But for the average joe, that is what I am seeing so far.

Just my two cents.

I've heard that about the 401. Faster piros than the 2100t. But never experienced it. I've also heard the 2100t has more consistant piro rates during rotation, so be on the look out for that. Of course we all know the 2100t is much easier to setup

I think is all comes down to gyro, servo and radio setup. But what do I know

So far, Both gryo were VERY easy to set up. Both of them were basically ready to go out of the box and able to fly. Both of them also needed some fine tuning.

So far I still hole that the 401 DOES piro faster than the 2100, BUT it does NOT stop on a dime like the 2100. WHile I do think that the 401 seems to be holding a little better in light wind conditions.

I had both of them out today in 10mph winds and the 401 did hold a little better in hover than the 2100, but both did equally well in FF and banked turns. Seeing as this is as far as my flying skills go, that is about all I can contribute to the differences. SOmeone with better skills might be able to add more to this.

what are your gain settings? and did you synchronize the tx gain and the 2100 gain??VERY VERY IMPORTANT on a 2100 and also overlooked.you can usually run a little higher gain on a 2100 and not get wag,if I remember mine is set really high(gain) and no wagging the tail holds like a rock even in gusts

I can only give gy240 comparison but its less of a gyro than the 401 it locks dead solid on piro's I turned up my EPA this is the piro rate on a gy240 it spins fast and locks hard although I have my gain at almost 70%.

Im flying both of these gyros. Both are good IMHO. For my basic flyin skills I find the 2100 required more input from me but seems to perform better too. The 401 was is almost plug and play for me.
