I would like to know what everyone is running for a pitch curve on their Benzin trainers. Could you show your reply in the following format,

pitch curves

gary:

i set up my benzin as shown in the instruction manual. it has +14 degrees on the top and -5 on the bottom. it flies well.

i originally bought it for a bk117, so the set up works great. recently i decided it needed to do some aerobatics, but i haven't tried any yet.

i have informed alan szabo that he has to fly it this weekend and see whether it will do any aerobatics with the limited negative. i am sure it will loop and roll, but i doubt it will hold inverted. going to see .

amaizing!!

I think i have mine set up for normal at -2 to +12 and hold at -5 to +15 or so. I tried a loop in normal and the head speed didn't even go down when i was going fast through the loop. I then tried a role and it was the same thing. my heli holds the head speed for a loop and a roll with out having idle up set up. I would not recomend doing any more than that wiht out idle-up and alot of alltitude on both!! Dam thing is a screamer!! Holds my camera pod like it wasnt even there!!! And i can see it a mile away (figureativly!)

Thanks for the replies!

What are your hover pitch numbers? and can you switch between flight modes in a hover without changing stick position.

pitch

gary:

my benzine is hovering around 6 degrees.

i started fling helicopters in the late 80s, so we had switches for inverted and the only method was half stick hover. i am too old to change!

if you use half stick hover and want to fly switchless inverted, you are going to have a real problem from a hover if you hit the switch. i usually switch modes as a fly out or on an approach to landing. since you are adding power as you fly out, the altitude drop is not significant. on the approach to landing, it will jump up a bit.

if you set up the hover at 3/4 stick, you should not have any problem. since i like to hover a lot, i prefer staying with the 1/2 stick method.

hope this answers you quetions.
