Hi A123 Users...

I am new to A123... Had my 1st A123 flight today...

My original TP Lipos are over 3 years old, have hundreds of flights, and can't last forever... They are still in good share 15 min flights...

I like it so far... Here is what I am doing, and would appreciate feedback...

(1) Made 2 5S2P long packs with TP balancer wire harness
(2) Charge with TP-1010C (with A123 firmware)
(3) Use a TP-210V balancer
(4) Used a "Watts Up" version 2 to monitor
(5) Used in Scale OH-58A 700mm 12lbs 6 oz flight weight
(6) Charge @ 5 amp
(7) Here are my "Watts Up" readings

After 10 min hover 32.66 volts
Wp = 641.6
Wh = 92.6
Ap = 21.19
Vm = 29.83
Ah = 3.045

Not quite sure what type of feedback you're looking for, but it seems like you have found a setup that works for you. You are certainly taking things very easy on the A123 packs as current draw in operation is really low and you could charge those packs at 20 A if you had the capability.

Basically, those packs aren't even breaking the slightest of a sweat and should last a long time under those conditions. You should be able to hover for at least another 3 mins.

Hi Folks...

Thanks for the help...

The links were VERY helpful...

I will start increasing my time from 10 min to see what my actual duration is...

If you just have the one pack and if finances allow maybe consider a Mastech 5020 to charge them in 15mins. Any pics of the heli and installation?

Regards

Updated my AstroFlight chargers firmware to function as a dedicated A123 charger... Higher amperage then the Thunderpower...

I also updated the firmware on my CC 110HV... The new CC 110HV firmware is designed with A123 battery features...

Works well... 12 - 13 min flight times...

JKos prediction was very accurate, got 3 additional mins....

I realy like how fast these charge!!!
