Radio - Servo - Gyro - Gov - Batt > Futaba 401 problem

Hi

My 401 when i power it up is making the servo move backwards and forwards in a very fast erractic manner, whilst in the hh mode. When it's in the normal mode the servo hunting stops but the servo buzzes more loudly than than normal.

I have just fitted a brand new 9257 servo and checked it on my other 401 and it's working correctly.

This is my third failure in the last week, esc smoking, servo gear stripped(although no crashes, i can only think it was caused by handling damge?) and now the gyro has given up, only after just eight flights on my trex 500. This gear is only 1 month old.

I am running a 5.1 stepdown on the tail servo and the rest of the servos are at 6 volts.

Is the gyro toast?

It sounds like it might be picking up some "Noise"..... is the gyro located close to anything that might be emitting any interference? The routing of the wires?

do you have another 401 to test it with?

have you tried putting it in a different location?

The older I get, the shorter my attention....... Oh look. A shiny penny..
