| I was in the process in learning a "new to me" 12Z by programming a model. I had installed the latest T12Z_V1_3_2_080612 update two days ago from the Futaba web site and added the TM-14 yesterday. Everything was functioning normally. I was programming some mixes. While setting up the third mix function, the unit started emitting a constant and unending series of beeps and locked up (slowed way down) . The programing controls still function, but in very slow motion. It takes about 20 times longer than normal for a cursor move or "enter" input to react to the command. Just prior to this happening the battery was at 53%. I've recycled the unit numerous times. Each time I do, a "capturexxx.bin" file is written to the CF card.
When the unit is recycled, the normal series of flashing colored lights in the "T12ZH" indicator appear. The first screen comes up normally, but on the second screen, The correct battery reading initially appears, then goes to zero %, then blank. All this was with the CF card installed and recognized on the startup screen. When the CF card is removed, the same problem occurs, but the unit will not go past the second screen. In either cases, the constant beeping starts on the second screen.
I can very slowly go through the menus with a CF card installed, but the unit locks in the second screen without the card installed. The only file on the card is a MODEL folder with no files inside. I managed to deactivate the last mix that was done when the problem occurred with the card installed, but the problem remains. I did the following as a troubleshooting routine:
1. Removed and recharged the battery.
2. Switched back to the 72mhz module.
3. Moved every switch and control
4. Removed and installed the card numerous times.
This is my first Futaba radio. My background is with an XP9303, so i may be missing something simple. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anyway to do a reset on the unit? Any advice appreciated to avoid the unit having to make a trip to Champaign.
