Hi jjoos99,

What I do: tip the helicopter nose up after each flight and let the surplus oil drain while it is still hot.

If you are getting a good and reliable idle, good throttle up transition and no fuel foaming in your tank during hovering I would leave the idle needle as it is.

After landing check your engine back plate if it feels cold or you could put your finger on it indefinitely your mixture may be to rich and causing excessive oil in the muffler.
