e-E-Sky Honey Bee- Lama- Belt CP- E-Smart > Ok I think my King is at a crossroads ...

At this point I see two possible paths for my king, one is the shelf or the classifieds, and the other is putting the effort into it to get it flying like a champ again. That second route is starting to look like an xtreme frame. As much as I don't want to throw another $70 at the king, that frame may make the king good enough build wise keep it on par with the Mini. And that would be a good thing. SO I have some thinking to do ...

To be continued ...

I feel your situation. I decedied to try to sell mine. That xtreme frame is just too tempting. I know if I end up keeping mine that frame will be bought soon.

You must be made of money? My king is an old worn out dog I need to replace almost everything on it and thats what Im gonna do. I have a heli a 100 times better than my King but no way will I get rid of it but I must admit the cheaper $20 frame is very enticing.

Dont do it TJ "n" Guy It doesnt cost money to keep it on the shelf for later. and remember you'll find a new love for your king in a scale fuse.

Side note TJ I now drive a jeep you jeep guy's hate the compass.

You are going through a phase It will pass. I was gonna dump the King for another TREXSEV2 because they fly so smooth and I didnt want to fix my king. Well I sat down one day and got it back running smoothly with the scale body. I am glad I did cause now its tore down again gonna get new links and gears and change the belt. Then do the second fuselage for it you know youll need a winter project someday soon save the king.

I second this. Unless you need the funds to fix the Mini, it won't cost much to postpone the decision. Except that when the King3 comes out in September (if it actually does ship) resale value on the King2 will drop.

As I've been thinking about my next heli, I've been trying to envision where the HBK2 will fit in scheme of things. I've slept on the T500 decision and have decide to follow Chris's councel for now. I can't afford to crash it, so I'll most likely get a 450.

With that said, most of my flying will still be in my backyard. At least for now. The backyard is better suited for 300 class heli than anything larger.

The other thing I think about is having a "practice" heli to test out new maneuvers. My first nose-in take off was with the Blade CP. Its nice to not be afraid to damage the heli when you are doing something very risky for the first time.

greg youll find a 450 will float around the yard better than the king the difference is the speed any forward stick and youll run out of room.

OK now lets get down to business it wasnt hard to convince you to buy a king why is it taking so long to get a 450 in your fleet?

Oh that's funny! You have to remember I was flying (if you call it that) the Blade CP at time. The other problem is that the HBK2 is now running great. I don't feel like I've come close to its limits and I'm still learning alot from it.

However, I have been shopping and its just a matter of time.

It is going to be a while before I get it in the air. All I got was an airframe, I still need the motor, esc, servos, gyro. I have an rx and technically I have a gyro but it currently resides in the King ... so ... I guess we will see how the King flies over the next short while

I have already decided to just grab one of the $55 eBay 430L motor + 35A esc combos. That just leaves servos. Technically I can't run HS65s because that would be way to ordinary. See except for the GY240, the Rex would look like any other and I can't have that. So Maybe HS55s? Or are they too small ... I know the s3114s are too small for the frame holes ... hum ... what does that leave?

I used all plastic gear hs65's even on the tail with a gy240 thats now unheard of. Now the Rex standard is HS65MG on the cyclic with a gy401 and digital servo on the tail.

Seeing as we dont rip off a piece of our t-shirt when we Solo, aaaaaaaa I Mean "Hover", I think the King should always go to the shelf of Love. We all love our first Plane, Heli, Girl Friend, Chevy, Pockey Knife, and hate to let it go. Why should we. It's like keeping Pa Pa's, old 29 Pacerad, that was your first ride in, and you reamber the smell of that new cloth interiour. I have so much to do on the King, im over wellmend, and now have a hard time thinking about getting it out, and getting at it. New Motor, ENC, Servo, sodering all my Deans plugs, and what ever else I have to do. Laying down a few tracks in the stodio seems a lot more eazer for the time being. Get rid of the King, NEAVER.......................!
