I am sure I am a PIA by this point with nube questions. I appreciate all the input and help.

What pinion did you end up with on your Scorpion Centuryman? AFTER you geared it down of course. Do you know if the stock Align 75a ESC will work with 12s? ONE more, 600e kit comes with the Align BEC. Can I use that with 6s or should I get one of the after market like the Medusa I have in my 500? Thanks again, Rick

15 pinion

i beleive the align esc is only good to 6s

the bec that came in my kit came with it's own battery witch is 7.4 v and thats all it will work with.

I use the castle 10 amp bec for 21.99 it is good to 6s or 12s if you use a series battery setup and wire it correctly.and you can adjust the voltage from 4.8 to 9.6.

I use that BEC on my 600N.

My LHS programmed it for me to 6 volts.

I use one of my 3S TREX batteries.

Quick charge and fly.

how did they program it?

I have 2 of those bec's laying around and if i could use them on a 3cell I'd be set,i was told that you could only use them for 7.4.

so i've been useing cc 10 amp becs but i'm running low with soldering them into all my 600e heli's and i only have one left for my nitro's.i've been useing my 450 batts all along for receiver batts, they work awesome are lite and you can fly 8 to 10 flights on a charge.

I don't know. It's something you buy from Castle.

Sorry I don't know more.

Here's the guy that can explain it.

I'm sorry i misunderstood you. i thought you wer talking about the align bec.
I have the castle link already .i've used it dozens of times for my cc becs and esc's.

I did have one of my castle becs do that but i think it was due to arking when hooking up the battery as i have a dozen of those units all running 6s that have no problems, and when that one failed i did have a big spark.

Sorry, when I asked about the 6s for the BEC, it was supposed to read 12s. Thanks! Running on a 3s is really cool. Gota figure that out for sure.

Every time I learn something new I realize how little I know.

Centuryman, Do you use a spark arrestor?

tadawason, I very much like your post. It seems you hit all on the money. I only started fying Electric this year; was allways a Nitro guy. The smell, the power, the smoke- nuthing better then getting out early in the AM and breathing the smell of Nitro. Anyway' I researched good before I went to E. Everything you said about E was what I felt, but you know what? I got used to it all real fast. Around here it's hard to find a place to fly. When you are driving down the road and see a place to fly I think it's great to through 2 or 3 lipos in the cargo pants pockets- hook the DX-7 on the neck strap and grab the ship out the trunk and walk out with just those items and get in 20 min of flight time. I carry my ship verticle dead in front of me so passers by do not stop to watch the action, once airbourn no one really notices. It's pretty cool !!! I guess it just takes a little getting the way you do things down to a science. Then what ever you fly gets pretty comfortable. I'm making a few changes to my T-Rex 600 and will put up some new pics of her soon. You ever see that pic in a helie mag ware that guy is sleeping comfortably in bed with his arm around his ship next to him? That's pretty funny but my 600 gives me the same feeling - and I don't have to take her to bed with me. LOL
