HIROBO Freya - Sceadu - Shuttle > Forward flipping problem with my SWM Evo 50

After the Evo 50 completing the flip halfway, I notice that the whole heli starts rolling to the right and I have to input the left aileron to level the heli. Initially, I think it may be my human error with the stick inputs, but I have tried the same flipping many times, and the result is the same. So, I do not know what has gone wrong.

fyi- I do not see the heli drifting to the left or right when hovering upright, and it is not a windy day at all.

Any idea will be welcomed.

On a ccpm bird you must check your travel adjustments. Sounds like your not getting even throw when you feed in neg. pitch? Check that the swash stays level throughout the entire phase of positive and neg. Also I've found adding a little expo helps smooth out rolls and flips...say 10-15% works for me. Hope this helps.

Also check your servo gears.

I use a swash plate leveler top check the travel in all points of collective. The one I have has a separate set of leveling bubbles, so I find some places to level the airframe first, and then I level the swash at all points. I would check this first.

The second suggestion is that you may be subconsciously inputting an extra command, such as rudder when you move the collective.a bit of rudder in the vertical translates to a bit of lean in the inverted, I do this quite often.

Lastly, check that your phasing is dead on.

Thats all I can think of.

I came, I saw, I hovered

Guys, I think I have found the problem, but I am not 100% sure it is the cause. I have done the following experiment to observe the behaviour of the flybar cage.

If the cyclic stick is at central i.e. no elevator input and I move the collective stick between +10/-10 pitch, the flybar cage remains at stationary.

If the cyclic stick is at full forward elevator and I move the collective stick between +10/-10 pitch, the flybar cage will interact and start moving at around +9 and -9 pitch.

So it seems to me that I have too much elevator travel. To correct it, I need to adjust the DR rate on my transmitter so that the elevator will not travel too much, and the same amount of adjustment will be applied to the aileron.

Please let me know your thoughts.

What radio are you using? You're on the right track to minimize the interaction, use your end point adj. first, make sure the end travel both pos. and neg are equal and level then use some expo if needed.

This is pretty hard to eliminate completely with some radios specially Futaba due to channel distribution and latency issues. I've had that very same problem before and I almost switched back to HPM. Another thing to consider is your servos have to be matched. Do a search here on rr for latency and it will give you a lot of related info.

Hope this helps.
