In the vibe manual, maintenance, it states the tail gear case should be repacked with grease every 50 flights or so, but nothing about grease during assembly

Are you guys packing it with grease?, I have nothing on my stratus.

I'm running it dry. I figure I crash before making 50 flights anyway so whats the point?

Now seriously... I never bothered on any of my birds and never had a problem... well actually I had a problem once when I put grease on my freya main gear... I fly in a dusty area and the grease attracted dust and sand which then started to grind the gear down. No thanks

My thoughts as well as grease will acumulate dirt, however the cover will assist if not too dusty. I would like to get the official version though as the material may be prone to wear when dry running, maybe a little silicone will be OK

Personally, I leave plastic gears dry and pack metal ones with grease.
