Guys, I need some help in converting my Freya sst eagle 70 to a 90 size. do I need to change the 95t and the 12t to a different gear size ? I am currently swinging 690's I want to go to 710, my tail boom is long enough for 710's I'm open for suggestions.

The gearing is good. If the freya head is the same as the x-spec than 690's are as long as you can go.

You have to start somewhere!

If it's a Freya and not a Freya Evo, the head is the same as the X-Spec, just no metal parts, and 710 are not a good idea unless you have a nonstandard boom and tail belt setup . . . 680 to 690 is all you get before the mains and tail interfere with each other . . .

Gearing wise, it all depends on what engine you plan to run. For YS, 93/11 is the ticket. What you have will probably be OK with an OS 90 . . .

Like the other post said 690's are pretty much max for the SSZ II head on a Freya.
As far as gearing goes it all depends on your flying style, what head speed you would like to run and which engine and muffler you plan on using..

Only with short tail blades - even MRC/Hirobo has recommended nothing longer than 690 if you are going to get at all aggressive . . . .

Here's a link from another guy that thought it was OK - right about until he almost lost his heli:

http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/...light=Freya+710

And here is a post as to why:

http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/...ght=FREYA+BLADE

The original post that I saw referenced with the statement by MRC
was here, but appears to be gone now, for some reason:

http://www.runryder.com/showtopic.h...52&pagenumber=2

As mentioned in the references, if you don't fly too aggressively, you can get away with it, but if you get agressive, bumpy, or have a firm auto, it's a problem looking for a time and place to happen . . .

And although I think things are pretty clearly stated, note that this is for the original Freya, and *NOT* the Evo . . .
