- Use WD40 to slide the torque tube into the boom and while you're at it, install a second TT bearing. Not that one isn't enough but two are better.

- When mounting the washout arms to the swasplate, either use a ballreamer before or put the balls in from the inside and only then screw them to the swashplate as the washout arms need to be installed backwards.

- Pay special attention to the frame positioning. They are different and if you mount them wronlgy be prepared to start from scratch again once you realise your mistake.

- use a digital caliper to make the rods exactly like the manual advises. It will pay off later.

- Red is blue and green is red. I.e. JR threadlock has different coding colors. If you use the supplied threadlock then follow the manual. If you use loctite then where the manual shows red, use blue and where the manual shows green, use green or red loctite (I personally use 643 green).

- pay attention to the gear mesh. and don't forget to dial in and balance the fan assembly.

be very careful with the ball links, i busted one trying to get it on, then i pulled out the ball link sizer. if you don't have one i would highly recommend it.

I pay extra care on main shaft and engine alignment.
To reduce the vibration.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. Make absolutely sure the clutch is parallel to the clutch bell (assuring that the engine is also strait) or it will hammer on your top clutch bell bearing.

And read the post on the exploding tail, follow the manual 100% and don't be hasty!

Common sense may not be common after all

What Stolla said.

It's pretty easy to put the tail case on backwards.

I'd rather be flying

I'm not going to ask how you know that

Tony

PS - At least you didn't try to take of with one of the blades mounted backwards like someone I know VERY close

In RC Heli mag this month, they make a point of how much vibration this can cause. I would have never known.

I do agree with Tony.
Carefully make the clutch shoe properly sit in clutch bell.
