Audacity Models Pantera 50 - Tiger 50 > Bent Tiger mainshaft?

I think my Tiger mainshaft is bent? I have a little vibration. When I watch the plastic headbutton from overhead it doesnt look like it's running true. The vibration is enough that it's causing foaming in the fuel so I'm going to change it out. I dint crash the heli so I'm a little purplexed how this happened? Anyone else experienced anything like this?

Fuel Foaming is...

...caused by engine vibration. If the main rotor is showing signs of being off balance, for whatever reason, the fuel will shake and slosh but not foam. If you suspect the shaft is bent, check it, don't guess. Generally the head buttons don't make good visual reference points anyway so don't pay too much attention to it. If the tail boom isn't bobbing during any portion of the flight then it's unlikely there's anything wrong in the main rotor system.

Good luck,
HHC

HHC?

I think you missed the whole question. OF COURSE I know the shaft is bent and am replacing it. OF COURSE I know what the fuel fomaing is about. The question was whether anyone else has bent their Tiger mainshaft just from flying the heli?

I'm pointing out the obvious here, but if you KNOW that the shaft was bent then why did you say you THINK it is?

I've bent a Tiger shaft by beating on the heli doing really hard steep angle tic-tocs and rainbows. It only happened to me once, and I'd done similar moves on the same heli before, so I think I just caught it exactly the right way.

Well, I didn't convey the inflection in my voice in words I guess. If you read the sentence out loud and say it with some disbelief it might make sense. I was saying in incredulously....

"I think the mainshaft on my Tiger is bent?!"

I found it odd to have a bent shaft because I didn't crash the heli and I didn't think I was yanking on it too hard. Anyway, John says he's taking care of me and is sending out another mainshaft.

The way I see it...

...is the way it's presented. I can't read minds and only have the data given to me to work with. I didn't miss the question, I tried to change your perception of the problem. Saying that you think the shaft is bent by using the head button as a reference proves nothing to me as buttons are almost always off a little. You also added a "red herring" with the fuel foaming comment. Fuel doesn't "foam" from bent mainshafts, it "sloshes".

Next time, step back and read your posting as someone that isn't you. Yeah, it's tough to do but you may see that a stranger won't be able to grasp the problem so easily.

What the heck? You took my comment waaay too personally. None of this has helped with my question either so I'll just close this thread. I bent the mainshaft on my Tiger mk2 just from flying it around and was wondering if anyone else has done so either.
