How many of you are using the thin stock clunk line with the ys motor.
I'm leaning towards the ys due to deterioration of the silicone tubing with exhaust gas pressure on os etc, however as the tanks inlet is in the middle-front the tubing has to be very flexible to be able to double back in the tank, so thicker tubing won't help. I'm also not sold on the hayes neoprene tubing as the mere fact that it stretches, lose colour, gets softer etc points to incompatibility with nitro fuel
How many flights can I expect with the std fuel line on the ys?

maybe 6-8 flights. I managed to get 12 and there are some rumours that some guy in south Africa managed to get 16 but I find it hard to believe

Seriously, there isn't a kit in the world that comes with good clunk lines these days and the vibe is no exception. It will probably last more than what I said (it was meant to be a joke) but it will fail sooner or later. Really want to risk a $2500 bird because of a $5 clunk line?

I don't like the hayes clunk line myself and I've been using a clunk line thats called "irvine clunk line". Not sure where you can get it (I got mine from helibits in the uk) but its just a touch thicker and yet flexible. I never had one fail on me and I exchange them only yearly. I've also heard good things about the Prada clunk line but had no personal experience with it.

Good Luck

Tony

I just used the same fuel line that I used on the rest of the heli. Been doing that for years on all my airplanes and heli's.

I use hayes clunk line, try it to change it out in the winter and half way through the summer. More for piece of mind than anything , just half way through the summer it starts to creep into the back of my mind (what if)

Thanks guys,I will look for the brands you listed, however for now it would probably have to be hayes as the no-name versions we get here are too rigid. I will soak in fuel for a day or so then clamp it to the clunk and hope for the best. One things for sure I think we are in need of better fuel lines!
