This is i tail belt drive right? You`d think for the kind of money for this machine you`d get a torque tube.

Why? One more fragile thing to break and repair ($$$) and Hirobo's belt design may well be superior (it wouldn't surprise me much at all). Hirobo definitely knows their stuff . . .

Plus pipe drives are heavier, usually by a few ounces, more bearings, more metal, etc.

Personally I run pipe drives in everything, I'll most likely change over once it is available.

HI,

About the belt issue:

From my point of view, i do not notica a real difference between belts and tt´s ( it depends on the machine of course, there are machines out that fly really bad with belts but i´m talking about hirobo machines)therefore i told Hirobo to make the belt version becuase it´s better for customers.
After a crash i never had to replace my belts but after nearly every crash you need a new tt with all the gears and so on.

Just my 3 cents

@Ka-man: i will try my best

Best Regards
Dominik

here's the interesting points:

1) some say you need TT to do 3D, and yet when someone wins a competition using belts views change
2) some say we should be using flybarless, and yet when someone wins a competition WITH a flybar attitudes change

see the pattern?

Call me a cynic, but it seems that people will only accept "proof" when it comes from competition winners. There's nothing wrong with belts or using flybars, and you don't need someone to whip the competition to see that.

I love belt drive because of simplicity.

But reguarding flybarless. Do you absolutly need it no. Can it help you unlock some extra cyclic authroity in your heli while maintaining a reasonably stable hover feel...I think so.

The real question is would Dominik have still won the competition with a flybarless machine...I think yes

Synodontis is sooooo right, thats why I just give a darn about the bla bla.Hirobo have been building Helis for so long and they fly all so well, ohhh and I forgott they are no real 3 D maschines( yea right).Keep any maschine simple and you will reduce the risk of failure simple as that and why should I pay an arm and a leg and spent hours on rebuilding when I crash or simply touch my taildrive somewere. If Dominik cannot see a big diffrence between belts an TT who can then???? . And can somebody tell us were to find a video of Domoniks flights or was no one filming because he was flying a non 3 D helicopter by Hirobo?.

Regards Pete

I love my Hirobo machines - there's no doubt they make a world-class helicopter.

But I'd like to remind everybody that it's the man, not the machine that won XFC. Congrats, Dominik.
