had a great flight, brought her in to refuel, went to take off nose kept spinning to right (clockwise). Adjusted trim, didn't seem to help. 15% left on stick seems to straighten tail but it still doesn't feel right.

Belt is tight
have an 810g servo on tail
excessive trim disabled (flashes led) on 401
push rod seems smooth
everything appears fine

I can't fly like this and it's gotten me worried, where do I go from here?

Thanks!

well this is kind of a stupid post by me lol but make sure you didnt accidently flip the gyro hold switch off. once in a while I accidently hit it and take it out of avcs mode. Since i have my gyro set to a switch up on it puts it in avcs mode where the red L.E.D becomes solid as where normal mode makes the red L.E.D flash. Just something to look into because you did say it was flying good till you shut it down to refuel it so maybe when you hit throttle cut you also flipped the gyro hold switch out of avcs. Personally i wouldnt buy a servo yet till you checked your radio settings out. Hope this helps

If you are using a 401, it is important not to use the rudder trim to try and stop any turn.
also you need to be in heading hold when you switch on, if the LED is flashing after switching on you are not in heading hold and you need to change to heading hold and then turn off and back on again.

It was definitely in HH mode as the LED was solid. Now, I didn't try and re-initialize it. Is it possible the 401 locked in during a bit of movement?

The JR 810G, while not a great servo isn't that bad as far as rudder servos go, is it? It's pretty fast. Not a torque monster but not that bad...

JR
810G Sport Gyro Servo 4.8v Only Specs
Type: Analog
Torque: 34 oz/in @ 4.8V
Speed: .10 sec/60° @ 4.8V

Futaba
S9254 Digital Coreless High Torque High Speed Helicopter Servo
SPECS: Speed: .06 sec/60° @ 4.8V
Torque: 47.2 oz-in @ 4.8V

Power Supply: 4.8V (Futaba does NOT recommend using 6V)

The grey servo tail blade bellcrank ball socket seems very tight in when snapped onto the ball. I'm thinking of sizing it and shimmimg it down a bit with a washer to better align it at the end of its travel.

Okay, no more rudder trim, got it! I felt that was bad as too much would take gyro out of heading hold mode...

well guys, I checked it all over, checked linkage alignment, etc and all seemed good. Fired it up and tail held like a charm. It appears that it simple initialized incorrectly. There must have been some movement or something.

Thanks for all the quick answers, you guys are the best!

Make sure you do not have the DS in the ON position when using an analog servo.
