I'll try to explain this as best as I can
Im about to install the motor into my evo 50 and I slide the clutch bell onto the clutch shaft, and notice the were the clutch shaft comes up through the gear on the bell....you can hold the gear and wiggle it about 1/16 in all directions. This seems sloppy to me but??
The heli kit was new, but the guy I bought it from " forgot" to include the clutch, clutch bell, motor mount and some other small items. Then dropped off the face of the earth.
I bought the parts i needed, but bought the clutch bell used. The liner looks new but is it possile for the bore on the inside of that gear to be worn?
I can post a pic if needed and thanks for the help.

You should have a bearing in the clutch bell and that slides over the clutch start shaft onto a washer that sits on an o-ring. Some wiggle at the top is ok. The turned down portion slides into another bearing.

ok, I see....when the motor is bolted in, the "turned down" portion of the gear rides in a bearing in the frame of the heli thus eliminating most of that play im describing.
thanks!
