Scale Model RC Helicopters > to cockpit or not?

that is the question.

this is the fuse with the mechanics in. i can cut the battery and receiver tray off to make room for the "dash board" control panel thingy, and there is enough room around the mechanics to put a pilot seat and passenger seat in then the pilot, also i should get the back seats in aswell either side of the mechanics, i was thinking about boxing in the mechanics and painting them black, but would it be worth doing when there will be a big black box in the centre?

has anyone got any photos of cockpits with a similar configuration so i can see what it looks like.

thankyou.

IMHO

I would say put as much of a cockpit in as you can (subject to weight and space.

I personally think a scale heli SHOULD have some form of cockpit.
To thats part of the deal of scale.
The other part of the challenge for me is trying to reconfigure the whole thing internally to get everything in.

It normally means a lot of lateral thinking.

But thats just my opinion.

Keep us updated.

there are a few things that make a scale heli: the landing gear(you have that covered:cool the rotor system, lights and a cockpit. all or some of the above will make a big difference. if you can get away with putting anything in there, even if it is just the dash, i say go for it.

drive a rotary, fly a rotorcraft

I put a full cockpit in my Bo 105 and fitted a plasticard bulkhead so the mechanics can't be seen from the front.

Cockpit

I say put in what you can ...Start with just the panel, next do some seats...You might also think about just tinting the rear side windows, Then you just have to worry about the front!

(only run if I do!)
