Just got a .60 graphite Pro which I have determined to be the 1994 design. It had been sitting a long time and was "stove Up" I have dismantled it sized all the ball ends, checked and lubed all bearings and pivot points and have every thing moving smoothly with the exception of the swash ptich arm. This model has the long arm that goes through the frame and is made of several pieces. Long story short the arm seems to have more resistance to move than seems normal. Individually all the parts move freely but when assembled ther is a bind that seems to be at the slider around the main mast that controls pitch and elevator functions. I suppose some relief in the area around the main mast fo this slider may fix it, but am reluctant to do so if this is normal. Any thoughts?

If you are talking about the swing arm assembly then it is normal to "machine" excess material (i.e. lightly sand) such that the arm will float up/down the mainshaft. The rotation of the shaft itself also serves to allow the arm to embed with a bit of time.

Yeah the slider is where I think the bind is, I guess I will pull it and "lightly relieve it" with some #320. Thanks for your reply, I am finding this old bird kinda like a time machine. Am really looking foward to getting it up and flying!

I love those things... got a total of 4 of them and refuse to fly/buy anything newer. Let me know if you run into any more snags. Put a reliable motor in it and you will have unlimited fun. Back on topic, if I am not mistaken there was an aluminum upgrade for that slider also at one point (the SE had it). Never flown with it so I am not sure how much smoother that part really is.

60 pro swing arm

The part number for the machined arm is 0826. I don't think it will fix your problem though. Use the machined arm in combination with the machined elevator rocker ( sorry I don't have that # handy).
This combo gives effortless movement on rocker and arm.
There is often drag from the swashplate and washout mixer as well.
Check the drag on each item seperatly.

That arm should move up and down effortlessly...are you saying it's binding at its pivot or is the plastic elevator "bellcrank" rubbing on the main shaft?

I ran the one-piece machined one on mine, it worked great...I had the multi-part sitting around though.

The bind was in the elevator "rocker". When I replaced the main shaft, I relieved the rocker. It was binding on the main shaft.I checked to see if there was a side load, it was the clearance in the rocker. All is good!
