Hi guys, i'm new to forums and also new to helicopter hobby ! Nice to meet ya.

I have this electric helicopter called Walker 5#10 , it's an 4 channel. I bought it cause i wanted to feel a cheap one before getting expensive ones. Well, I don't know what happened to it, it never flew high (max 1 meter) right now, it doesn't go up anymore. All it does, when i ascend it, all it does is just spin around, it has rotor blade since it's a cheap one. It seems like the Main Rotor blade isn't turned by the motor but more like by the wind created by the Second Rotor blade.

Is there anything i can try? It never really crashed, the only thing is that it went horizontal and like ... the rotor tried to turn but got stopped by my floor. Please see my youtube video to be more sure what's happening. Thank you very much for your time. Thanks in advance.

Hi Ayashifx55,

Welcome,

You may get a better response by posting in the specific forum for your heli.

The Walkera forum is here. http://www.runryder.com/helicopter/f132p1/

I watched the video. There seems to be three possibilities...

1) The motor that operates the upper blade has a break in its windings, keeping it from turning as fast as the lower blade (due to a big change in resistance versus the other motor). This was the case with my helicopter. I changed the errant motor and all was well.

2) The mixer is shot, where you adjust the proportion and the gain. The gain helps the tail rotor to stabilize. The proposrtion governs the speed at which both motors turn with respect to one another. The reason your helicopter just spins in a circle is that the motor that operates the lower main gear is not turning as fast as the other motor.

3) The proportion needs to be adjusted per the manual.

Hope this helps.

Have a great day!

Ayashifx55:
I just thought of one more possibility. There are two set screws on the bottom main rotor gear. If those screws are not tight, or they are tightened on the radius of the inner shaft versus the tooling flat portion of the inner shaft, the motor that operates the upper rotor blade will turn much slower or not at all due to the lower main gear slipping on the inner main rotor shaft.

I would check to be sure the screws are installed properly and tight before changing anything else.

Have a great day,

Thanks guys for fast reply !! I found out that the motor and the black gear to make the main motor turn (a black rounded thing) doesn't touch / grind / make it move well enough ... how can i fix this? Thanks.

If the screws to mount the motor came loose, this would cause the motor to back away from its main rotor gear (this gear turns the upper rotor blade). Either loosen, if not loose already, the mounting screws and push the motor toward the lower main rotor gear and retighten the mount screws (use blue thread locker on the screws to keep this from happening again!) If the screws are already tight, loosen them and push the motor toward the main rotor gear and retighten (again, using blue thread locker on the threads of both screws).

You should not have any more issues with loose screws or motors shifted away from the main rotor gear once you have completed the above.

Additionally, make sure the two set screws for the bottom main rotor gear (big black gear) are tight and in their proper alignment with the flats on the inner main rotor shaft. Apply blue thread locker on these screws, too! Tis will ensure the lower main rotor gear (that operates the upper rotor blades) does not slip over time.

Best of luck,

Hi ! Thanks for the reply , smacka, well , i checked the screws and they were as tight as possible. I had to pull the motor toward the back, so the brush touches the gear and between the motor and a frame , i slipped in a 4-5 times folded paper to keep the same distance, still. The main motor barely moves if you know what i mean. When it flies now , it doesnt go up straight ... it has to like , lean to either right or left and go up. In videos, i see people going up very easily , even with the same heli... i'm guessing the black gear that operates the main rotor lost all its grips ... when i try to turn the main rotor with my hands, the motor's brush barely moves and as for the secondary rotor, when i turn it , the motor follows up it's movements.

So i can be sure that the main rotors gear lost all it's grip ... Where can i purchase one ? How can i replace it? Thank you.

Example of the black gear i'm talking about because english is my secondary language, please forgive me. Thanks and have a good day.

hi, i suggest you visit/join local fly clubs in your place. do not go the more expensive route by buying less expensive models. buy the proven ones. i made the same mistake as you are doing now. those walkeras do fly but in the hands of experienced builders and pilots. they are actually boats disguised as helis. they only skim through the floor. they are not rtf as claimed.

there are many good helis that you can learn to fly on more quickly and with less crashes thus saving you more money in the end. models like trex, mini titan, belt cp, hb king2, etc. go for brushless motor and lipo combination which can give you trouble free and longer flight times.

my two cents.

cigarettes have addictive warning signs in packs, why can't heli boxes?

Budz has some good advice!

Look in your documentation that was shipped with your heli. There should be a parts break down. Do a google search for that part number and you will find what you are looking for.

In the mean time, weigh out all of your options (considering your personal budget, et al...) and consider whether or not to purchase a more stable, easily flyable (if that is a word, if not, I made up a new word) and maintainable machine.

I wish I could do more to help but without having the "bird" in my hands, I am limited on useful advice.

Best of luck to you, no matter what you choose to do or how it turns out.

Regards,
Smacka
