Last weekend i managed to snap a ball clean of the swash with my 6003D V-bar. I didnt think there was much chance of this happening considering the low servo currents i've measured with the V-stabi head but was really loading it up at the time. Did i read somewhere that guys have used different balls because they are thicker or no-one else ever done this?

wow I am running 8717s on 8.4 volts and flying 2400HS with no issues in the regards seriously, even last weekend at a funfly I hit the blades on the ground in a piroflip and kept flying no damage. I have had some swash balls break or bend on hard crashed but never in normal use flight.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

Where did it break? And which one was it?

Assuming the swash is the same as for the dx/3d with flybar, I know the pitch lever threads are shorter than those of the aileron swash.

Could you get the remnants out easily?

It was one from swash to blade grip and had well over 100 flights on it. Very sure it wasnt overtightened when installed but it does look like a stress fracture had started on it before it finally broke. I bought a new one but have a friend trying to EDM it out as it snapped about 1mm into the swash! It just broke mid-flight but i was farting the blades pretty heavy at the time!

I bent an inner ball in a crash but it did not break. I replaced it of course.
