It is said that in spectrum people have ot put a capacitator in a channel of the receiver to avoid cuts or resets in the receiver

Is there risk in the futaba ff7 2,4 GHZ fast?

thanks

If I had to do anything like you describe, I would return the radio and demand my money back. You should not have to modify the equipment to my knowledge.

No modification of a Futaba FASST receiver is necessary. If you have a low-voltage cut-out, the receiver will be back on-line in less than a second when the proper operating voltage is restored. Also, please be aware that the minimum voltage that a Futaba FASST receiver requires to operate is lower than the voltage most servos need to operate, so you'll have servo problems before receiver problems if you have voltage-supply difficulties.

I´ve seen some posts about lockout in futaba also, so it dont seem impossible.

Spektrum has the quick connect feature implemented, so all new rx since one year will reconnect VERY fast. You dont need a capacitator in the new ones. If you have the old ones, send them in for the mod (its free).

Can you share the links for the posts with us? because I haven't seen any, apart from the heat issue.

Thanks,
Doug.

As far as I know the problem was related to the T-Rex 500. When using the flight pack to drive the motor and BEC the motor took so much power that caused a voltage drop the RX could not cope with. The fix was to use a separate battery and regulator for the electronics.

It did highlight a problem that the Spectrum stuff was taking 3-4 seconds to recover for which a fix has now been applied.

I don't believe the capacitor actually fixed the fault but it alowed someone to make a quick buck.

fwiw...

Had a lockout on a 450 Rex...Seems that no system is failure proof, but on the whole, the odds are better with 2.4 Ghz, especially in a noisy environment...Been flying 2.4 since Spektrum was available, only failure I've had was with FASST...Neither system is immune to servo noise feeding back into esc/bec circuits...See all the posts about "Static" on Rex helis Logo helis , Raptors, etc...

if you are still on 4.8v nicads i have heard that this may be an issue, but if your on regulated your fine!(BTW if you spend the money on 2.4 and dont go reg your missing out!)
