| My washout base was a couple of thousandths loose on the main shaft without the screws inserted. By adjusting the screw torque, you can easily tune the fit of the washout to the shaft and get "zero" play. As it wears this fit can be maintained until you strip the threads 
By the way, if the washout binds a little when the driver pins are engaged, try rotating the washout base 180 deg and slide it back onto the pins. Mine dragged a little one way, was absolutely perfect the other. A little free tip for ya...
