Thunder Tiger Raptors 30-90 - Imperio > RAPTOR 30 I dont know what to do

I have a Raptor 30 that i have been fighting to fly since i bought it..I purchased it from switch who has helped me set it up from the beginning. It is my first heli.

we were having a tearable wobble in the head which was believed to be in the warped wood blades i had on it...i purchased MS composite 550 blades which didn't have a nick on them and were in perfect balance.

i also built a mini titan which i transfered the JR 770 receiver from the raptor 30 to the mini titan

i replaced the 770 receiver with a like new JR 649 which i purchased off of here. I connected everything exactly the same as the 770. im also using the same channel 16 xstal

now the heli just wants to jerk forward..i dont know how well i can explain it i hope switch chips in on this.. it was really scary to see and it almost went into the ground..i dont know what to do

i keep putting things on this heli and another thing just goes to poop.
im getting to that frustrated point and i don't know what to do..

also iv been fighting my motor dieing out on spool up...if you don't go slow it will bog out and die..still haven't figured that one out.. the motor is a o.s max 30 and will run really well once in the air. im running 15% cool power fuel

if anyone has had any of these problems please let me know..i don't know what to do.

For your Raptor it could be a bent main shaft or bent spindle. The only way I have found to check them is by rolling it across a mirror. The mirror will show the smallest of bends that just a flat surface will not make aparent. I had that same kind of problem with mine. The spindles will bend easer than you would think.

For the Titan I don't realy know. Check all your servos to make sure they are at the correct 90* with all the trims set to nutral. Check the mechanical linkage going to the swash making it level. I don't know what kind of swash set up is on it(eCCPM 120* or mCCPM 90*)if it's eCCPM your servos have to be identical, or it could have unwanted inputs.

For the engine it sounds like the idle needle is set to rich.

Don't give up learning is the hardest part. Once you are up and going solid you will love it.

Hi,

Some of the things you say are familiar.
#1) You get a jerking, so first thing to check on the work bench with
your radio turned on is move the servo wires where they come out of the servo. Could be a cracked solder joint there.........I put silicone in mine.

#2) Is the Raptor used ??? Remove and check the bearings on the main shaft.... they could be pitted and noisy....yep, you have to remove them to be sure EF= electrical noise

ok a couple things..

there is nothing wrong with the mini titan. What i meant was i took the JR 770 out of the Raptor because i got the JR 649 for the raptor and just transfered the jr 770 to the mini titan.

ok here was my setups

Raptor 30
Jr 770 with wood blades = head wobble and no forward jerking

Raptor 30
JR 649 with ms composite carbon blades = no wobble but the really bad jerking forward and almost crashed

explain it a little better? sorry for the confusion..

by the way me and switch had the head apart and checked bearings/main shaft/bushings and everything checked out ok.. everything is tight on the head with no play

Haven't seen it with the elevator servo but when my RX was going bad I lost control of my throttle servo. It would open all the way and close after the bird got spooled up. So far that has only happened once and after the RX was replace everything work perfect. I went threw 4 throttle servos before i figured that one out!!! It could also just be a servo. Spin your blades by hand with the TX an RX on and move the controls to check for binding around any linkage an swash. Make sure it is level when the controls are.

Glad to hear its a cheap fix. Just get the small bugs worked out and the frustrations will be gone. Every machine new or used always seems to have issues at the beginning.
