Synergy R/C Synergy N9 > First flight today - lotta shaking?

I put it in the air today for the first time. I am running a non-pumped OS 91 SZH, and have it set per the manual. It is pretty rich right now, but the heli shakes pretty good, mostly noticable at the front where I have battery mounted on servo tray. There is no foamin of fuel in the tank, just waves from vibration.

Is this normal? I am curious to know if the rich break in condition is causing the shakes. Also, could a low head speed cause shakes too? I am running infinavation dampers with a couple of shims for a tight head. Any ideas?

Thanks,

How about in idle up?
Most likely a stiff head/low headspeed problem.
Stick her in idle up & see if it goes away.

I'm happy with the standard "tight" dampening with stock dampeners as per the manual. It's crisp enough for me. No need for stiffer dampeners.

What is you head speed? if it is 1650 or 1700 you might want to bump it up to 1750. This will get the shake out.

Your head might be to tight. The inovations with shims? my head is tigh with Hyper rings and stock shims. you will need some flex in the dampening. Try it with less shim and higher head speed.

OS 91 engines are known to have high vibrations, especially during break-in.

Ask the guys with the Fury/Stratus and they will tell you about the canopy standoffs breaking off during the first two or three gallons through the OS.

If it is more of a wobble, then check the head.

At Chuckie's suggestion, I removed the infinavation dampers and put the original o-ring dampers in. This really settled things down. I now only have a slight intermittent shake that I am pretty sure I can attribute to the engine still being really rich for break-in.

I think this heli is going to be a BEAST!!!! Just hovering around during break-in, this heli is very responsive and very precise - so far I am very happy. The canopy is at the painter, so should have it back in a couple of days - can't wait!!!!

And I actually had a set of infinavation dampers on order... I guess I won't be installing them...

Guys you can also run the Hyperrings. They work quite well.I have a set from the beginning about 175 flights and they're still like new.I also have one stock and one Hyper in my 60 and it works fine.

....that's what I'm talkin' about!
