Flight time (3D): 5min with 2500's / 4.30min with 2170's
The model is very responsive and powerful, better than the flybar version. In the wind is very stable too.
I'm trying to fine tune the v-stabi setup for better tail performance (I've a little drifting in inverted back flight), but overall it's a killer 3D machine.
In the next few days I'll post my v-stabi setup file.

Weight?Do you know what your full up weight is with your lightest pack?
If your tail is wagging on hard stop, try increasing your integral gain while decreasing your overall gain. Also make sure that your collective compensation is going in the right direction.
That's amazing!Less then twice the weight of a 450 but 3 times the power!!!!!
How well does it auto? Any comparison to the TREX 500? Question I have is - does the belt add any significant drag to the drive line components? The drive shaft on the TREX 500 is drag free. I am getting ballistic performance on it. But 200 grams is a lot of weight savings. I Could add an additional 30% battery capacity and maybe get the same performance if the belt drive doesn't consume much energy.
Thanks, Art K.
I love these things!!!

Luca,
I am setting up my flybarless Protos with a Vbar. I used essentially the same setup as yours...
How long are your servo arms? Mine is pretty much ready to go once I finalize the settings. I also would love to your settings when you get a chance.
This thing is really light compared to my Trex 500 flybarless setup. The Trex 500 is awesome without a flybar so this baby should rock!
I have shortened the servo from 16mm (stock) to 14mm. I've used on the main grips the Robbe S4442 balls (6mm longer) to help reduce the collective throw. I'll try to return to 16mm servo arm lenght and longer main grip posts because at full stick deflection the rods coming from the side servos hit the mainframe a little. I've a little tail drift when inverted backward and the tail in general is not as good as I'm used to with my Spartan DS 760. So I'll try to fine tune the tail and then I'll post the setup.

Thanks for the info. I used Trex 500 ballholders on my main grips which also add about 6 mm to the stock. I also had the servo arms as short as I could go so I am about where you are but they seem to clear the frame at full deflections.
Any oscillations? Just wondering because my Trex 500 had to be mechanically fine tuned to reduce collective throws to "get it right".
Ciao.

Took mine out for a quick hop tonight...Flies ultra smooth with tons of power.
I have a little tweaking of the VBar to get it flying like I want but overall I am very pleased!
I hope the stock motor runs very hot because mine is like a frying pan after 5 minutes!
I am running a 15T and Jazz 55. Even with the better efficiency of flybarless, this little motor is going to get cooked. My batteries are barely ambient temp.

just check one thing, If you hold the swash and twist the blade, does the bladegrip twist easy?
Perhaps it wont show much in as small ship as the Protos, but on my .90 sized MA I tried exactly this aproach on the bladegrip (the protos is virtually a copy of the MA head), and I got some bad flying results since the bladegrip was twisting during high loads.

No twisting whatsoever. I flew mine tonight again and it really rocks. I just dont' really like the motor temps I'm getting with my 6S setup. i'm going to try a Scorpion 3026-1000 with a 5S battery...

Before you buy a new motor...Try the 18 tooth pinion and dial your ESC down to 60%. It will be the same as running a 5s with the same ESC. Keep checking temps on everything as you do this. I think that motor just doesn't like to run fast. If you run it slower it will be like running it on a 5s pack. Your ESC will have to work harder though.
I've adjusted the tail setup and now it's locked in!!! No more drifting in backward inverted flight. I'll tweak a little the overall setup to best suit my flying style in this w.e. and then I'll post the V-Stabi file for the protos.
