After upgrading my Furry from 32 to a 50 It flew great today but I had a radio interfance issue and it hit the ground. I am working on pulling it apart for rebuild but I can not get the torque tube out of the tail boom. Any suggestions on how or what will get it out. This is my first shaft drive and 2nd crash but the first one cost me a set of blades this one already hurts and I haven't completed the parts list.

Hi Airborne! The tube bearing is held in place with an oring on the carrier. if the tube is bent straighten it out as best you can first. Then I just use a dowel rod to push it through. It may be tough at first but after the oring lets go it should slide out. If the tube is bent on both sides of bearing then you will need to cut the boom off past the bend and near the bearing to get it out without damaging the bearing carrier. If the boom got bent alot be sure to carefully inspect the tube for splits and cracks Tom

I have tried that and it still has not let loose. Are they always that hard to get out? I have WD40 soaking in the boom right now hoping it will help.

you could always try to warm the boom just a little. that may help. or just a sharp tap with the dowel Tom

After WD40, dowels breaking, burring myself, I finale got the TT out. It took 30 min with a dremmial and a steady hand. The TT had been in place for quite a while. That is a heck of a set up the way it is all designed.

Thanks for the help
