I just maidened a raptor 50 V2 that I purchased from JETMAN here on RR and am having a fairly odd issue that doesnt make sense to me. I got a very very severe vibration that made the helicopter look like a blur. It only happened twice between about 5 tanks of fuel. Once the vibration begins, you have to land immediately, let it drop down to an idle then spool it back up and its fine? I put it on the bench and went through it thoroughly and didtnt see anything out of order. It is a very clean raptor and in excellent shape so I am confused. Heres what I got in it.

Raptor 50 V2

OS 50 ( non hyper) OS #8 plug
4 S3151 servos
9254 on the tail with gy401
pitch is -3 on the bottom and 8 on the top.
The engine is not tuned properly yet but I dont think that is causing the problem
What do guys think??

I would never fly a second hand machine without first tearing it all the way down and rebuilding it.

The problem could be anything from thrust bearing problems to a loose motor mount to unbalanced blades and so on..........

sounds like the head dampers try and put some lube on the feathering Spindle

Sounds like woof. Do a search on woof. Put in new dampers properly lubed,check spindle and bearing grips,all ball links and balls as they are all wear points. Even previously crashed plastic blade grips although they look fine can cause woof because they were stretched in the crash. I would go through the whole heli and replace anything that isn't up to new specs.

3151 servos also have a lot of case flex, this can lead to woof as well. I chased this on my first R50, and it went away as soon as I went to 9252 with dual ball bearings.

Check for control slop in elevator, aileron and collective control circuits.

Ah, you got it I see..

I bought and assembled this heli new, it has never been crashed, and it has never had a woof and poof issue, blade flutter, nothing, make sure you have the blades tight.. Very odd! Hope you get it sorted out soon.. I had JR 4131's in it on everything and never a problem. This was the most reliable funnest heli I have ever had!


PS, the carbon blades on it are the origional ones it came with, (referring to your other thread about them)

Ill get her dialed in, thanks for the heli. You were right, very veryl clean and well taken care of. The only thing ive done to it was put a mp5 pipe on it.

Right on! Im still working the bugs out of my predator, on it I had to take the whole thing apart and what not.. anyway, I was missing that R50 tonight! Enjoy it!
