Beginners Corner > slow steady flash on gyro?

Hello, I'm just now taking my heli out(JR Venture 50) this year and when I turn on the TX and then the heli the gyro(401) has a fast flash and then goes to a slow flash.

I've got about 50 flights on this heli last year and from what I can remember the gyro is supposed to be a steady led light and then it's ready for flying.

I've been reading the manual and it says something about the slow flash meaning the rudder doesn't or shouldn't be working when it's flashing but my rudder does work so I'm wondering what I've done wrong or is wrong?

As far I know I haven't changed any settings since last year so I'm not sure where to look or what to do.

any ideas?

Your Tx wasn't in Heading Hold when you turned on the power to the heli. It must be in HH in order for the gyro to initialize correctly. The slow flash indicates that condition. If you still can't find the problem, then tell us what kind of Tx you have and someone with knowledge of that model can help with the settings.

OK I found the problem, since I'm still new to this, I forgot one of the switches on the upper left hand corner controls the HH...it was in the off position and I simply forgot all about it since I didn't setup the TX, a friend at the club set it up for me.

thanks for the effort
