I recently purchased a NIB MJ here and am just starting the build. Elsewhere, I saw mention of a V1 frame and a newer V2. How does one tell which version they have? There are no markings of any kind on the box that contains it, nor is there a packing slip or parts list...

I believe the V2 frame has the motor out front more to help with CG.

This is the V1 frame.

Just to be sure mharpo is not confused, the upper part is a v1. The battery tray is a custom made to accomodate larger packs.

Thats correct the picture has a custom battery tray. However, the CF frame is the V1 version.
