Heli World is still waiting on the Predator canopy before these get shipped out so I have a little time to ask, are these what I want? I have 9252's for cyclics. BTW, as an update, a while back I was asking about a Predator gasser for sale for $1200 shipped. Everything turned out good! I also got some additional parts NIP like CF fins, and CF tail rotors that I didnt know about. The sparkplug was pretty carboned up but the cyliner walls and piston look good and have ample compression. I gave er a good clean down with some carb cleaner and put in a new NGK CMR7H.

Those are exactly what I'm running on my Predator gasser. They work great, I run A123 batteries unregulated, and they are fine with those voltages, along with the JR7703d gyro.

I'm running 6965 on the tail and it has been working very well for over a year now.

sounds good. forgot to add that Im going to be running the 401 gyro that came with it. Im guessing the voltage will be around 5.3 or so (Im running a Jewel with a 4.8v battery) I've read that there are alot better gyros for 3D but Im more into fff, loops, rolls and derivatives of... so Im thinking it should be fine. I haven't had anything bad to say about the 401's in any of my other heli's but then again, thats all I've ever known.

I wouldn't worry about it,t he 401 does fine for sport flying like that.

So your running a completely unregulated machine on A123's? I'm also running A123's, but regulating the tail servo and 401 with a Spektrum vr5203 dual regulator. Wish I would have investigated a bit further before settling on the 401/9254. Would like to have gone completely unregulated. Less electronics and connections.

Yup, why run a reg if you don't need one. That's the beauty of the 6965 on the tail.

You say your running the Jr7703d gyro off A123's unregulated. The 770 is rated at 6v. Do you know if the 401 will handle A123's? I know Futaba only rates it at 4.8v. It sure would be nice to use my 401's and hook them up with 6965's. I feel the extra connections with using a regulator is going to bite me sooner or later.

On my trex's the stepdown is after the 401 going to their tail servos. The 401's are one of the few things i haven't broken (damn that's done it!)

The 401 is rated for a 5 cell Nicad or Nimh pack, same as the 770, which charges up to a higher voltage than an A123 at peak.

Thanks for the information. I have three regulated 401/9254 setups all on A123's. I'll be getting a 6965 soon and will try it out on my Rappy 30. It's my Test Bunny! It sure will be nice to get rid of the regulator and extra connections.
