Could it be the clunk lines (I run a header tank too)? Not checked them yet. Heli starts up fine, so I reckon the Enya #3 plug's OK.

No 3D just tearing up the sky, low passes and general hovering.

Atually, I had to clean a couple of the ball links on the swash. I use a metal H T one. On my previous flight the other night I lost a screw from the front link - good job there's a rear fore/aft cyclic link too! Thought I had to use some rear trim I never had to use before.

Anyway - I thought the swash movement was a little notchy so I cleaned up the ball links, perhaps threadlock got on there. however, that should cause engine trouble should it?

Try another plug. I had one that idle fine but quit randomly in the air.

Does it loose headspeed and quit or just simply quit? Does the engine feel hot or cold after the flame out?

Hey mine does it Too !

I think they bounce great. Same story, little hovering, into FF, round the patch a bit, back to a hover - It stopped ! Oh NO! Boing !

I 'm pretty sure it's a plug or a combo of plug and some Knarley old fuel

I might spring for a new plug.

It did seem to lose headspeed a little. Engine feels hot, but OK for "backplate finger test". However upon looking at the fuel line to the carb after landing there were some air gaps in it, which is why I was thinking of the clunk lines. I'm at work, so the real inspection will ahve to wait until this evening.

EDIT:- the line to the carb does dip down slightly then back up again, but still below the level of the header tank.

FWIW the heli was running fine a couple of days ago..

Check your glow plug, and if needed put a slightly hotter one in there. At our field we had a 50 hyper, which constantly kept flaming out at random times. As soon as he replaced the plug with a new A3, he was sweet as..

SORTED! - swapped out the fuel lines and chenged the plug - I run Enya #3's - they work well in the heli..unless something is wrong

Cheers.
