yeah, like wow...

I am unfortunately lacking the words to fully show the appreciation of your talent, hard work and the patience to produce and photograph your work and give advice when asked. To suggest that this is the thread of the year is a drastic understatement. Primo, Primo!! I suppose I should start saving now as I have been looking for a 1/4 scale 407 since a local helicopter outfit switched to them a few years back. They have a lovely fleet of about 7 helicopters which I may be able to get detail photos if you need.

Thanks again!

ps. my first post, so hope is okay!

Thanx George !

Sincere Thanx ! Brings back a lot of memories for me. All my knuckels rattle and hurt just looking at your work. You have a beautiful layout studio, and I can imagine the playroom / work room. True blessings for your earned skill's and project tenacity. I respect and honor the pencil work, research, and scaling efforts besides the trench work. Next dream ? Maybe a 500E

Do you mean the widening/extension to the fuse or the added panels? "Brokenlink" is right: The panels are primer, but if you mean the actual widening of the 407, the "widening" was incorporated into the original plug when G-man sized it and filled it. The 407 prototypes are similar to the 206L frame, with composite widened "sides" that increase interior space.

thanks, but i did mean the panel line around it. i saw the early pics where he widened the fuse, i have only ever used primer for simple panel lines, did not think i would build up that well, but i guess it can, i think it looks really good though.

Hey reaper31,

I didn't use regular primer, instead I used what's called "High Build" primer which is typlically used to fill fine surface scratches. It goes on thicker then regular primer.

Gingeriffic welcome to RR

I'd say Richard has a tuff choice there.

George

Thanks.

Certainly appreciate the welcome...a fine forum indeed.

Richard - just loving the red/white themes on your 407 pics. Great external details like those emergency floats/air cannister are excellent for scale. Hey, one is even Canadian - nice to see at rest with tie-downs, intake covers, etc. It's all in the details...

What mechanics are being considered for this fuselage? George, aren't you working with a supplier for the mechanics??

Thanks,

I have already started a savings fund for when George is done - plan is to model the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office 407.

Saw it at the fairgrounds a couple of weeks ago during a veteran's day exhibit - the photo's don't do the colouring justice...

That must have been a temporary setup - it was clear when I saw the original.

Maybe the FL sun was getting a little to hot that day...
